During a consultation one day, I whipped out my handy dandy laser measure, and our sweet client was taken aback that there was a magically helpful gadget out there to help make taking dimensions SO much easier. It dawned on me that there are so many helpful tools available now to help make working in the shop a breeze, and I thought we’d take a moment to share just a couple that we have uncovered over the years! Here are our top 5 favorites!
Laser Measure
We, of course, have to start with this awesome laser measure! It’s great for taking measurements of large spaces without having to whip out the old school measuring tape! I love it for consultations because it’s quick, easy, and accurate! Another honorable mention in this category is a digital measuring tape! This handy gadget is great for shorter distance measuring, and even breaks it down to the closest fraction of an inch! No more guess work involved…. especially if you’re like me….and the maths can be hard!
Caulking Gun
If you’ve ever had to caulk anything, you know that a caulking gun is a MUST, and a GOOD caulking gun is worth its weight in gold! This is a must have in the cabinetry-making game, and if you’re looking for a great gun overall, this is it!
Multi-Tool
For all those small cuts or awkward cuts, you need a good multi-tool! This is perfect for any onsite work, cutting trim down to size, making small adjustments where needed, or cutting into drywall. Honestly, it’s a great tool for any smaller-scale cut!
Glue Bot
THIS y’all. This Glu Bot is truly a life saver! If you use a lot of wood glue in your shop, this is a MUST. It dispenses glue easily with minimal mess! It keeps the glue pliable while in the container, and it makes working with wood glue such a breeze!
Ladder
Last but certainly NOT least, this retractable ladder is life changing! Easy to store! Easy to use! It’s light weight and not bulky! When you have to hang curtain rods or make some quick changes, this ladder is easy to whip out and put to work!
